Protein bars are notoriously dry and really bland tasting. Not these!
I was contacted recently to try a new kind of protein bar from a company called Multipower. I’m always on the lookout for a new way of getting enough protein that is convenient for me and protein bars are a great way that works for me, although it’s rare that I find any that are enjoyable to eat.
These bars are incredible. Let me just start there.
I was completely blown away by how soft and tasty these were, especially when I had prepared myself for eating yet another bar that feels like play-doh.
The multi power bars come in a number of flavours but my favourite was definitely the Berry Yoghurt flavour.
In terms of nutritional content here’s the stats:
*one bar = 50g
Nutrition Information per | 100 g | 50 g* |
---|---|---|
Energy | 1764 kJ / 419 kcal | 882 kJ / 210 kcal |
Fat | 12 g | 6 g |
of which saturates | 7,5 g | 3,8 g |
Carbohydrate | 18 g | 9 g |
of which Sugars | 3 g | 1,5 g |
Protein | 53 g | 27 g |
Salt | 0,18 g | 0,09 g |
That’s a fairly high number of grams of protein which is awesome. The real jackpot for me is just how low the carbs are in these bars. 9g! 9g of carbs. That’s one of the lowest carb protein bars that I’ve found, if not the lowest.
Perfect for when trying to cut fat and keeping an eye on those carbs.
I honestly cannot fault these bars at all apart from perhaps that they are quite expensive. At £53 for a box of 24, it’s more expensive than other bars on the market, but you can really taste the difference.
I’ll definitely be grabbing some more of these in future when I’m back on a low carb plan.
